A lot of interactions can cause a player or npc to lose sanity.

Encountering and fighting an Anomaly, Coming across Gore or remnants from someone else’s encounter with an Anomaly

What happens at low sanity

Multiple things can happen

example or the general things.

Starting at 100 sanity nothing happens.

80 - Start being aware of your surroundings causing you to take +10 anxiety.

50 - Anomaly’s, Players, And Npc’s that are hostile are more aware of your presence -2 stealth

25 - You start hallucinating Losing sanity rapidly. -10 sanity per encounter and unable to regain sanity from sleep.

15 - All Hostile entities are now aware of your presence, Making the only option fight or flight

0 - Complete immobilization, You are now catatonic and prone, Cannot move, Other players must try to get you away from whatever situation you are in.

How do I regain Sanity

Multiple ways to regain sanity You must first have less than anxiety points to start regaining sanity

Sanity is regained over time when anxiety stat is at less than 50

Sleeping can also regain your sanity and lower anxiety at the same time

What is the anxiety stat

The anxiety stat is a stat that raises When the character is in distress

The anxiety stat is a range of 1-100

How do I gain anxiety?

Many situations can cause you to gain anxiety points

Hiding from an Anomaly Being in the dark for prolonged periods of time. Hearing unexplained sounds

What happens when I gain anxiety?

Multiple things happen when you have an encounter that cause you to gain anxiety.

The dm can give you anxiety points based on what they believe is correct. Or The player would can roll 1-10d10 to see how much anxiety is gained

How do we Lose anxiety?

Depending on the scenario it can be different

Examples
  • Being in a lit room or around a campfire/lamp.
  • Holding a weapon the player has knowledge in, IE the character is an ex guard and has a handgun, they will feel a bit less anxious as they’re holding it, This does not consistently drop anxiety levels a flat level depending on what they are holding.
  • Being in groups. The more the party splits the harder losing anxiety is.
