This is going to be long
The entire System is supposed to be Modular, Meaning you can pick up whatever piece you want to and use it in another system, Or just remove parts without losing out on much or having to rework alot.
The entire website is EXAMPLES And not a rule book. Its meant to show Would be Game masters how to create content for their wants and needs.
The examples can be used as is or changed. IT IS ENCOURAGED TO CHANGE SOME VALUES IF YOU USE THE ANOMALIES, This is to prevent metagaming.
Mumbo jumbo words?
So a lot of words are used only or primarily inside of the TTRPG communities. I will have a list here and try to explain them as best i can
Game Master / Dungeon Master
- These words mean the exact same thing, All it means is the Person who is hosting the game, Controlling npc’s Monsters, The game world.
- Dungeon master was popularized By Dungeons and dragons, While Game Master is used in almost everything else. You will see me use both interchangeably, I’m sorry it will likely be annoying.
- These are shortened to DM and GM respectively
Metagaming
- Metagaming is using Real life knowledge that Your character in game should not know. Normally to the advantage of the player and the frustration of the Game master.
- This could be anything from How to easily kill a monster, to the exact stats of a weapon.
NPC And PC
-
An NPC is a Non Playable Character or Non Player Character Is Exactly what it says, It is a character that a player does not play as, Normally Something that the Gm controls.
-
PC Is Playable Character Or Player Character It is what players are. I personally don’t know how to explain it more than this. Quote from alpha tester “This be you!”
What is a “D”
- So Youve probably seen me say 1D6 in somethings are like “the hecc is a D” This is in reference to the number of sides a die has a d6 is a 6 sided die like what Monopoly uses.
- So 1d6 is a Single Six Sided Die , 2d8 is Two 8 Sided Die The reason a d6 is used in this the most is its easy and cheap to obtain since most people have bought board games in the past.
